The problem
Pakistan faces a severe shortage of doctors, especially in rural and peri-urban areas where 60% of the population lives. At the same time, cultural barriers mean most women who graduate from medical school never enter practice — leaving millions without access to affordable, quality primary care.
The solution
Sehat Kahani operates a hybrid model: a nationwide network of e-clinics staffed by nurses and connected to remote doctors, supported by diagnostics and affordable medicines. To sustain this, it runs two telemedicine apps — one for corporates and one for individuals — providing subscription-based access to consultations, labs, and pharmacies. By re-engaging women doctors through flexible telehealth jobs, Sehat Kahani unlocks a critical, untapped medical workforce.
The insight
Sehat Kahani has shown that digital health can deliver affordable, high-quality care at scale in low-resource settings. By nearly doubling its e-clinics in Pakistan and expanding corporate services into the Gulf, it aims to reach millions more while creating new livelihood opportunities for women doctors.
